Lebanon - potential market for Vietnam exporters

(vasep.com.vn) Lebanon has become a potential market for Vietnam over the past few years, with stable growth seen in bilateral trade exchange.

Until September 2013, the number of Vietnam’s export goods to Lebanon doubled against a year previous. During the same time last year, Vietnamshipped about 20 goods to Lebanon, but the figure climbed to 40 in 2013. Seafood and cashew toppedVietnam’s export goods to the market, valued at US$16.3 million and US$8.3 million, respectively.

Vietnam-Lebanon export and import turnover through September 2013 reached US$39.1 million, a year-on-year decrease of 4.9 percent. Of this, export turnover posted US$38.5 million, down 6 percent, while import turnover was US$0.6 million, up over 206 percent.
